Welcome to my blog!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Here I’ll be narrating travel stories from the pages of my life by telling you all about the countries I visited: tourist attractions, museums and local art; must-see monuments and iconic places; people and food; and much more.

You may be wondering why. To begin with this website is a hobby and a forum for me to better my writing by sharing my travel stories. I was inspired to start a travel blog after stumbling across so many on the internet while researching places to visit and activities to do for my first big Eurotrip. Before this I knew nothing about blogging and bloggers because this is still very fresh territory in my country. At this moment I don’t know of another travel blogger here. If you do please let me know…it’s never a bad thing to network and make new friends. I must mention though that there are some wonderful bloggers in Guyana, not travel ones, who mostly write on local topics and their daily lives. I thoroughly enjoy reading their posts.

Well, I found the blog posts from ordinary people like myself far more interesting than generic websites with a few impersonal pictures. I also became empowered to travel alone after reading the stories of young women going out into the world to explore by themselves regardless of gender stereotypes. Many hours were spent reading the personal writings of others, maybe it’s just a human thing or I am plain weird. I followed the journeys of several bloggers and became interested in where they were going to visit next and what was happening in their lives when they gave glimpses of their personal struggles and successes. I also got numerous tips (like how to get into the Louvre museum without waiting in a line for hours) for my trip and altered my itinerary a bit after viewing stunningly beautiful pictures of places. For instance, I took a detour to Liechtenstein, a country I never knew about, after reading a blog post while in Switzerland. Czech Republic was not on my bucket list but after reading and seeing pictures of Cesky Krumlov I will visit there on my next trip.  The examples are too many.

I love travelling, it is an aphrodisiac plus you definitely do not need to be rich to do it! Once the bug has bitten it’s impossible to get the intoxicating germs out. Travelling has broadened my mind, created lasting memories, has been an invaluable educational tool, and has given me unforgettable experiences. Ultimately, the best gift I can get from making my posts public is to inspire others, especially young women from my country to take the leap of faith and set out to explore our beautiful world. Time does not wait for any man or woman. Even if you don’t have a travel partner don’t let that be an excuse to not travel. Do it alone, you will learn so much about yourself and feel empowered.

Be merry and reach for the sky. Live a life without regrets! Thank you so much for visiting and giving me some of your precious time.

Lots of love and hugs.
